Melbourne International Graduate Research Scholarships Ph.D. 2020/2021

Every year, the University of Melbourne, Australia awards The Melbourne International Research Scholarship (MIRS) for international students to study for Masters and Ph.D.

About Scholarship: The Melbourne Research Scholarship (MRS) was established by the University of Melbourne and is awarded to high achieving domestic and international research students. The University awards over 300 scholarships per year to international students.

From 2016, the Melbourne International Research Scholarship (MIRS) is part of the Melbourne Research Scholarship program.

Eligibility

To be considered for the Melbourne Research Scholarship, you must:

  • have applied for and meet the entry requirements for a Master or Doctorate by research degree at the University of Melbourne, or be currently enrolled in a research degree at the University of Melbourne and have at least 12 months (full-time equivalent) of candidature remaining, and

Selection Criteria: Melbourne Research Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit. Eligible applicants are scored and ranked according to their academic achievement of their last completed degree and their research potential in their field of study. Factors such as relevant professional experience, refereed publications, specialist medical qualifications or composition of original music may be taken into consideration.

Duration of Scholarship: The duration of the Melbourne Research Scholarship is two years for students undertaking a Master by research degree and up to 4 years, for students undertaking a Doctorate by research degree.

Application Procedure

Application Form – How to Apply:

  • If you have accepted a graduate research course offer and deferred commencement in order to be reconsidered for a scholarship, you must submit an online application form by 31 October to be considered for a scholarship in the following year. You will receive a notification that a scholarship application has been added to your record within seven days of having submitted the online form.
  • If you are currently enrolled in a graduate research course for which you seek a scholarship, you must submit an online application form by 31 October to be considered for a scholarship in the following year. You will receive a notification that a scholarship application has been added to your record within seven days of having submitted the online form.

Confirmed: Captain Smart bids farewell to Multimedia Group – ghanapublisher.com

Host of Adom FM’s Morning Show, Dwaso Nsem, Captain Godsbrain Blessed Smart has bid his listeners farewell as he readies himself to join Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN)

MyNewsGh.com reported that Captain Smart was moving from Multimedia to Angel FM in Accra a subsidiary of the ABN Network as Morning Show host.

Speaking on Dwaso Nsem, Wednesday, he said he was going to follow other commitments and therefore needed to move on with his life

He expressed his gratitude to the Multimedia team for their support since he joined the team some eight years ago.

He indicated that unlike others who left by being sacked, he was grateful to God that he was never sacked from the Multimedia team.

Captain Smart, however, did not mention which other commitments he was leaving to fulfill.

Confirmed: Two Ghanaian MPs have tested positive for Covid-19 – ghanapublisher.com

Minority Chief Whip Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka has revealed that two Parliamentarians and 13 staff have so far tested positive for Covid-19.

According to him, the infected persons were informed of their status after Speaker of Parliament directed mass testing of all members and staff of the House last week.

Speaking to Daniel Dadzie on Prime Morning on Joy Prime, the Chief Whip explained that the infected MPs and staff have been isolated while contact tracing has commenced.

On Tuesday, Director of Public Affairs, Kate Addo said reports of confirmed infection were false

According to her, the results of Covid-19 tests conducted o personnel have not been received.

But Mr Muntaka described her assessment as untrue adding that it has the potential of causing fear and panic in the House.

COVID-19 responds team at New Edubiase withdraws from post over community attack – ghanapublisher.com

The COVID-19 response team at New Edubiase government Hospital in Adansi South District of Ashanti Region has suspended their duties after a community launched attack on them during their duties.

The Adansi South District recorded three (3) COVID-19 cases a month ago of which one was from Adansi Atobiase and the other two from Adansi Kawotriwhe a suburb of New Edubiase respectively.

With the efforts of the district health directorates and the assembly, the three (3) patients recovered and one new case was recorded through contact tracing on 20th May 2020.

The responds team led by the district disease control officer, Mr William Asamoah who returned the two 2 patients to Kawotrihwe after their recovery took to their heels when they got attacked by the community.

On his accounts, he stated they were attacked because the community believes the COVID-19 is not real and the cases were fabricated.

He added that, the community said nothing on the recovered patients shows they were sick as there were no severe symptoms as they have been hearing and seeing on TV and radio from other countries.

The district police commander, DSP Francis Acka upon hearing the news mounted search for the perpetrators and 15 peoples have been arrested in connection with the incident to assist investigation.
